Why Study Design?
Students interested in Design may pursue it as their major program of study of as a minor with which to customize their degree in another field—usually in Communication Studies, Studio Art, Marketing Management or Entrepreneurship. A low student to faculty ratio, world-class facilities and integration of traditional craft, technology and philosophy work together to provide a fertile environment for creativity and innovation.
Faith-Centered Learning
Few things should come more naturally to the Christian that the appreciation for good design—after all, the Christian worldview is one with design at its core.
Traditional Craft
Learning craft is teaches both history and consideration for materials. Craftsmanship builds a desire for excellence, integration of mind & body and aids problem-solving.
Philosophy of Design
Changes in ideology over the past five centuries coupled with dramatic technological innovations have led to the emergence of design as a discipline. Yet it has always existed, and considering design as an idea as well as a skill is key—one cannot be complete without the other.
